We all use mobile phones not just for calling our near and dear ones but also to send MMS, SMS, Web browsing, GPRS, play games, software applications, even storing secret bank passwords and much more.
These days even our local rickshaw puller also has a cell phone. Now a days competition is very high. Everyday many company releases their new models. And now a days many new mobile manufacturers have also joined this race like Spice, Karbonn, Lava and more.
But have you ever thought, Which mobile manufacturer has biggest market share around the world?
The answer is our old Nokia (47.22%) followed by Samsung (10.82%), Sony Ericsson (9.08%), Blackberry (2.78%), LG and Motorola. Google has also joined these market giants.
In India, the list is some how different. Nokia (63.9%) is followed by Samsung (12.3%), Sony (9.13%), LG (2.15%), Motorola, O2, HTC (.09%) and more.
This data is based on the users who access Getjar website for free mobile applications.
Even Indian manufacturer Spice and Micromax also has a 0.01% share. The data is divided into world continents, countries, models, screen resolution, OS platform like Symbian or MIDP.
GetJar publish this reports monthly and gives the best stats graph. I had used LG phone and right now I am using two Nokia cell.
But I think in future Nokia share will decrease because many companies has started selling featured packed phones at a very cheaper price. Share your brand

Yup, even Samsung introduced BADA , it is likely to say Nokia will be losing their Share in year.
btw, i use SE 850i =)
it seems amazing to see samsung in 2nd place, sony in 3rd, and moto in 6th place,,, the main reason for huge popularity of samsung is their cheap touch screen models,,
i personally feel that nokia didn’t ask its customers what they need…. may be they had some ego problems that they did not bring out android phones! they were firm and confident about their SYMBIAN OS…. which obviously was beaten by the android…. now having understood this, it is now that they have tied up with microsoft to atleast bring out a windows phone! however, apple and google android OS have won the hearts and the trust of millions worldwide, thus over-powering the symbian… its tough for nokia….
one more basic problem why nokia has lost its name is because, due to the increase in multitude of their products, there are many flaws in them… their aim has been to reach out to maximum number of customers whereas the aim should be to deliver quality products!
thank you!!
