Today’s article is inspired by the Vishal Sanjay (our fellow blogger) latest status update on Facebook. Well he said that he has written some sponsored posts on his blog and he has earned good amount of money for that.
So the question is Should we write or not? Well it is your choice. Many big bloggers write sponsored reviews. Next question is Should we add a dofollow link? Now this is something different. But my answer is Yes and No. It is both.
I heard many people and they simply say that never add a dofollow backlink. Well according to Google you are free to enter to it, if it adds some value to the content of an article.
Suppose you are writing about a technology and add a link to gaming site then it might be irrelevant and Google bot may also penalize. But if you are writing about good SEO tips and add a link to SEO firm then the penalty chances are very low. Why low? Because Google spider is not a human and it can make a mistake. This may affect site SERP and Pagerank.
So write but think about it. Read Check Google Penalty sign on website.

if it is niche related stuff, u can right and add dofollow
When you write about gadgets, you promote it for free. If you get some good products, then may do it.
If related to your niche then you should do.
If your blog is very popular then you may find sponsors who will want to be featured on your blog even if the links are NoFollowed! That way you can tell for sure that it won’t violate Google’s policy, as well!
what you have decided ?!?
In fact you can write a sponsored post as long as the link or even links you are using are useful or closely related to what you are writing.
For example if you are writing about how to feed a dog and then you link to a site selling collars for dogs. It is a bit obvious that you are promoting the site. You can do it, but to stay in the safe side, also add other relevant links such as links to wikipedia or even to other related articles.
Dofollow or not, this is upon the choice of the blogger but if you are using affiliate links then better use nofollow.
@Kurt Thanks you very much for this great explanation. You are 100% right.
I am also confused about this. Yesterday I made two sponsored posts and added nofollow to be on safer side.
But this is confusing.
What do you do if you were to write a sponsored review?
