A few years ago, desktop computers used to be all the rage due to the fact that laptops aren’t that common and are pretty expensive, but nowadays, laptops are all the rage, but some people still argue about the importance of having a desktop in comparison to having a laptop.

To be sincere, I think there is no form of computer that is better than the other, and that the kind of computer you should go for should be determined by your needs, and as a result I will be giving you a little insight into main features of laptops and desktop computers so that you can easily decide which one to go for.
Size
When it comes to choosing which kind of computer to go with the first question you need to ask yourself is what you need it for and if the size matters. One thing about laptop computers is that they have a reputation for their portability and mobility, whereas a desktop computer is known to be big and rugged. If you want a computer that can be carried around with you anywhere you want then going with a laptop will be a smart idea. However, if you really don’t care about the size you might want to go with a desktop.
Speed
Speed is another factor that should be considered when purchasing a computer, and in this situation it is almost impossible to say one kind of computer is a winner or not. However, it is important for you to realize that, in most cases, you can hardly expand the memory that comes with your laptop, but you can easily increase the configuration of your desktop computer as you see fit.
In other words, if you want a computer that you can easily customize in respect to speed, going for a desktop computer will be a smart idea.
Reliability and Durability
The reliability of your computer is another factor that should be considered when trying to purchase a computer. A laptop is designed in such a way that, if care is not taken, can be easily damaged, whereas a desktop computer is designed in such a way that it is very rugged ,and can last years, even if you are not consistent with your use of it. Mind you, there are some laptop computers that are very rugged and can last a lot more than a desktop, so it’s all about what you know about computers and how you go about getting one.
Brand Association
The final thing you might want to consider when trying to purchase a computer is the brand association with the computer. In other words, which brand manufactured the computer and what do they stand for? In the case of a laptop it can be very easy to find a laptop that suits you that is associated with just one brand, but with a desktop it is often hard to find a variety of desktop computers that come with various brands. In other words, when it comes to brands you have thousands of manufacturers to purchase your laptop from, but the case is different with a desktop computer.
