I am sure everyone who is reading this page must be aware about PageRank (PR) and its importance. Google PageRank adds value to website Search Engine Ranking (SERP). There are many other factors too like back links, website age, popularity and more which is important for SERP.
Pagerank have a range from 0-10. A site with PR 0 is least important and the site with PageRank- 10 is the most important in the eye of Google.
Google PageRank Update Schedule for the year 2010 –

| Second 2010 PageRank (PR) Update | 30 June – 7 July 2010 |
| Third 2010 PageRank (PR) Update | 31 September – 7 October 2010 |
| Fourth 2010 PageRank (PR) Update | 31 December – 2 January 2011 |
The above data is the assumption based on previous PR updates. Google Generally updates website or blog PageRank PR 4 times in a year. All these updates are major PR updates. Every month Google also do minor PageRank updates for every site.
*Well this time they have delayed the process but it might happen in the month of April. Please focus more on content than PR. They already know that people are crazy for it and use it to sell links which is not allowed.
[Quick Update] As you know Google has already done some backlinks and other updates in the last few months, so it is getting very uncertain to predict the date. They want webmaster to change their looks over the PR. Many people use it to sell text links which they don’t like it.

When to expect major pr update? this in june was minor…
I have Link builded heavily in the previous month.I believe i will reach to PR 4 from PR 2 on July PR update.
The june 3rd update was a special updates, only expired and renewed domain names are affected. I think it was an update for the algorithm. lotof website went to N/A.
The Page Rank of my homepage reduced from two to zero. Anyone have any idea why this happened?
However the PageRank of my individual pages still seems to be the same as before. I don’t think there has been any effect on visitor numbers though, so I’m not too worried.
@Caroline its looks like you lost some backlinks and your subpages are linked from other sites.

Like someone else stated focus less on PageRank and more on creating an attractive website in terms of appeal, content and usability.
I am really interested in the PR updates as well. I had a site that went from a 0 to a PR4 in one update and then back down to a PR1 the next update because I stopped working on SEO and linking and talking about the site. Now it is back to a PR3 (it is a legitimate apartment website BTW) and my newest site, http://www.bakerdouglas.com/ will be anxiously awaiting this next update.
Anyone with information on PR updates and how to do them the best and most organic way possible please message me, or post a comment under mine.
Yes that’s right i see alot of site out there with high PageRank and no traffic. i worry more about getting traffic than a high PageRank. not saying its not good but good quality traffic bring you money
agree with jermaine but a nice pagerank looks good in the eyes my site is 3pr hoping to get a 4 or more

If you want to get High PR(5/6),you need PR7/8 Backlink.
I have 10+ PR7/6 websites without any traffic.
So base on your info I think I have to wait update at june for buying some domain PR.

I am hoping Google hurries and updates pagerank soon. I have been stuck at a PR 0 for months, simply because I changed the domain of my site.
I know pagerank isn’t everything, but it sure will be nice when they update it within the next few weeks.

PR actually does matter. It’s just one of those things everyone says. Content is King bla bla bla. Yeah nice content is excellent and it CAN help quite a lot BUT…. PR DOES give you an indication of how well you’ve done with your linking as well as extra benefits like MORE link partners. This is especially good if you are using 3 way links and using your HIGH PR site to exchange links for your LOW PR site.
Anyone who says that PR doesn’t matter is just another one of those idiots who follows everyone else.
If you are in the Internet Marketing or SEO group then PR matters quite a lot. People trust higher PR sites and PR DOES give an indication of how well you rank.
The thing is: Quite a few websites can have HIGH PR but hardly any rankings… why is this? Because they didn’t use the proper anchor text in their link. THAT is why PR doesn’t matter.
For me PR does matter because I ALWAYS use GOOD anchor text in my links and my Rankings correlate with my PR.
That’s my 2 cents anyway.
After saying all of that, please still do produce good content, otherwise some form of Spam Karma will smack you in the face.

I did a study once and found that a lot of the minor updates were appearing on or around the Google leadership’s birthdays.
Does anyone know if the pagerank has changed for July yet?

It is often very difficult to predict when Google will do a PR update – I guess they deliberately change it to keep online marketers like me on their toes!
The big thing about having a strong, high PR is that you’re more likely to rank well on short-tail keyphrases. In Google, Link Profile is everything and getting links from old, long established and high PR directories like SimpleBits is a must.
If your aiming at local keyphrase like “Web Design Dorset”, PR really doesn’t matter at all. It’s more about having good page titles with your local phrases in there.
@To All, As you know that Google did two updates in the last month. So it might be possible that they may change their methods.
This PR thing really gets to some people – it’s understandable. It’s puzzling as to why some sites has better content and still have lesser rating, than their peers with terrible layouts and just pictures on the sites – yet has a higher PR. The only true evaluation might be that the higher PR sites have more quality links, which isn’t something you can tell right off the bat. Frustrating – is this dominant Page Rank system. Good luck to all if indeed the ranking hasn’t happened yet.

Some kind of PageRank Update was on June 25th. My internal pages did changed their PR. Index page still the same.
Nothing yet. I’m assuming its going to happen in the next week? But in reality, does it really mean that much anymore?
Yeah, last month I found my 1 domain get PR0 from n/a. But the others are remaining the same PR. So, I assumed that it was the minor update. I wait and have the best hope on the major update sometimes in this month of July. Let’s wait and see
