Use Google talk as a live chat support for your site

Hello guys, How are you doing? Well, i hope you all are enjoying 2009 and celebrating your day. This is my last post for 2009, now i will post next year :P .

Google talk is a online chat messenger from Google. To use Google Talk, you need to have a gmail.com email account. Its really easily.

Have you ever imagine to use Google talk as a live chat support? Well, mark my words, you can use it for your blogs or small website.

To get the Chatback, Visit here and login with your existing Gmail account.

You will see the screen similar to one given below.

Just Set the Title and the Nickname for your badge. Nick is similar to your name. Select the style for your badge. There are many like standard, one line, URL only, etc.

Add the HTML code to any page and you will get your own working Live chat support. No hosting, no skills, no work is required. Everything is readymade.

To use it, Log in to our Google talk with your username and password and You will get online.

The main disadvantage is that you can’t collect the details of the person with whom you are chatting like his name, email, country. He will be shown as a guest to you.

This is good for small sites and blogs. It is not suitable for big business site. Here is the demo view

We will meet next year :)

See no one will use this feature for normal chat. You can use on your site. According to Gmail team , they said- “Today we’re launching a new Google Talk feature that lets visitors to your web site chat with you. We call it “chatback” because instead of you doing all the talking on your blog, your visitors can talk back to you.”

  2. This seems to be good for service oriented blogs..
