Check website for malware spyware virus and malicious infection using Google

We all use internet everyday to access different types of websites like Google, Facebook, Bing and other. But only few people use some site scanning software like Mcafee site advisor to scan sites before visiting them. Many bad sites hosts virus, spywares, malwares and other malicious items to damage your system.

Few days back Twitter was hacked. So now a days even big sites are not safer. So i suggest everyone to check unknown or new sites before visiting them.

Google Safe Browsing feature allows you to check website for malware, spyware, virus and other malicious infections before visiting them.

Here is the URL- http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=domain.tld

Just replace Domain.TLD at last with site URL. So if you want to check Twitter.com just replace Domain.TLD with Twitter.com. Google will show you complete information about the site.

Google will give answers to the following questions–

  • What is the current listing status for domain.tld?
  • What happened when Google visited this site?
  • Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware?
  • Has this site hosted malware?

So now you can become more safer with Google Safe Browsing feature and safeguard your computer from malware and other malicious infections.

Till then keep browsing :)

  3. hi,
i got a sudden drop from google (site:coolgadgets4u.com) since last week i was getting more than 110000 pages for the above query, not it decreased to just 750 eventhough the webmasters showing 110000 as the number of indexed urls.

is this any penality from google or just a mistake while updating.

It can be a penalty I think so. Read http://www.techbusy.org/google/how-to-find-google-penalty-on-your-website/450/

It will help you. Try to scan your site for malware or virus.

This is a great idea. I’d expect my antivirus software would tell me if I was visiting one of my sites and something was wrong, but probably only if I was on the affected page.
