This is how you remove your twitter account from Socialize. Just go to:
https://profiles.google.com/connectedaccounts
and click the “Remove” button near your twitter account.

Abhi wow thanks fr your quick answer. Unfortunately deactivating the service did not get rid of the accounts. However I did finally get the socialize option to work. Thanks very much Abhi.

@Charles that’s easy. Go back to Socialize option again and then at the bottom of the page you will see the Deactivate button at the right bottom corner of the page.
