It is used by thousands of websites to prevent spam comments or content. Many sites use it on their user Registration page. Google has also advised on their webmaster blog.

Its really easy to install on your blog. Download the WordPress anti spam plugin. You just need to activate and enter the API key. You can sign up on the reCAPTCHA site to get your free API key.

And you are done. Easy? Everyday I also get many spam comments.

You just need only two wordpress plugins to prevent spam – Akismet and reCAPTCHA.
