The lately introduced face-lifted version of Nissan Evalia MPV, Evalia XV-S which is priced at Rs. 10.55 lakhs at ex-showroom Delhi is all set to rock the Indian roads. The silently launched top-of-the-line variant has been updated with some new features like 15 inch alloy wheels and captain seats.
A Sneak Peak
The new face-lifted MUV launched by the Japanese manufacturer is an upgraded version of the top end XV model. This version comes with rear wiper, sliding windows and captain seats for the middle row. However, the design philosophy has not been touched. Except for the rear washer, wiper and 15 inch alloy wheels, rest all features remain unchanged.
The seven seater vehicle is undoubtedly a good drive and also features rear AC vents to comfort the passengers at the back seat. The tilt steering option in the MUV further enhances the overall driving experience, depending on different city conditions. The cushion pillow set, seat belt pad, neck pillow set, steering wheel cover and carpet mat are some additional features provided by the company.
A 1.5 litre dCi K9K diesel engine powers the MUV that churns out a maximum power of 88 bhp, 200 NM of torque along with an impressive fuel economy of 19.3 kmpl. The five speed manual transmission transmits power to the front wheels, which is amazingly good. On the whole, Nissan Evalia XV-S has a hugely spacious cabin and is an ideal people carrier. Nevertheless, people will end up paying Rs. 30,000 extra for the new version and there are no much changes in the design and the mechanical.

However, there are no major updates, but the additions have been done to the new XV-S variant only, which means customers who are not very pleased with this new model will not be able to enjoy the new features in other Nissan versions. Moreover, customers will need to pay Rs. 30,000 extra for the XV-S, as compared the top end XV model.
In contrast, where Innova has been able to maintain its virtue and super-excellence in the market, Nissan Evalia XV-S has turned out to be more like a utilitarian. Its van like design and ergonomics have given it thumbs down for personal usage.
If you are really not impressed with the new XV-S and are ready to invest your hard-earned money on any of the 2012 Nissan models, then you can buy any of the models and enjoy a heavy discount of nearly Rs. 2 Lakhs.
