We test a variety of electronic products in our test center and our cell phone review team is the busiest. This is because phone market is the busier as compared to other gadgets. Lots of cell phones are coming in market; some are master pieces while some are disaster pieces. When we write cell phone reviews we look for the following factors.

The display of a cell phone is the first thing that you are bound to look at in a phone. If the phone is high end, we need a big resolution because it gives you lot of real estate to work on. Phones mostly uses LCDs for screen but some high end devices have now started to use AMOLEDs and OLED displays. This technology gives you better quality but they also come at a premium.

Not all phones have keypads. Smartphones are dumping this to have a bigger screen. Some smartphones have a slide out QWERTY keyboards. If the phone has a slider interface we look for smooth movement at the joints. The keyboards must be spacey and should give good typing experience. The buttons should also be elevated above the surface which makes typing easier.

Music player is very important in a cell phone. People look for good music player in a phone because they don't want to carry a separate PMP. Service providers also offer a variety of services for music purchase. When we write cell phone reviews we check if the music quality is good. We also look for features like playlist creation on-the-fly and repeat and shuffle modes. Finally a high end smartphone must have a 3.5 mm jack which lets us plug in any standard headphones.

If you are a shutter bug freak on a stiff budget, you are likely to purchase a smartphone with good camera. 2 MP cameras are outdated; we think manufacturers should put in 5 MP or atleast 3.2 MP cameras on their products. In our reviews we also give additional points if the camera is equipped with mirror and flash.

The cost of the phone must do justice to the features. When people read our reviews they will probably check the cost first. If the handset doesn't have good features or if the features don't perform well (for example – a 5 MP camera might give poor photos) then a high price will turn off potential customers. Also if the price is low and the features are good, then we strongly recommend the phone to our readers.

This might depend on the type of the phone. If it has inbuilt GPS, it must perform well, if it is a business smartphone, the messaging features must be top notch. While writing reviews, we also check if there are any games to play during leisure. Finally the battery life must be good. We seldom find a phone with poor battery life but we always perform battery tests.
